LEAF 24 FROM A DISPERSED DEVI MAHATMYA SERIES.

India, Pahari, Guler, around 1800, painting 15.7x25.5 cm, folio19.2x29 cm.
Pigment colours and gold on paper. Chanda and Mumbha tell the demon king Shumbha of the beautiful Ambika residing on the mountain. Numbered recto and verso, verso text in nagari.

Provenance: Swiss private collection, through inheritance.
