A FINE STONE STUPA.
India, Pala, 10th/11th c. Height ca. 38 cm.
Dome-shaped section of a stupa on an octagonal base. With figures of Buddha inset within four niches, surrounded by minute buddhas in four rows. Mounted on a stand. Old chips.
Provenance: Swiss private collection, before 1977, hence by descent.
