SPONTOON

German 1785/1831. Sergeant, Principality of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen.
Leaf-shaped iron with central ridge, both sides with two decorative hooks. Etched decoration: Front side: initial 'A' with a crown on top, and palm branches on the sides. Rear side: crowned eagle, applied escutcheon, quartered, black-silver, with a palm branch on the side. Blade with ornamental nodus screwed into the socket, octagonal socket, two langets, blackened round shaft. Iron shoe.
L 223 cm.

Rare spontoon after a Prussian model from the reign of Anton Aloys, Prince of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen (1785-1831), in good original condition.
