Margaret Gibson: The Liverpool Ivories, Liverpool 1994, p. 106. Boxes bearing such plaques can be found, for example, in the Museo Nazionale di Ravenna: Luciana Martini: Oggetti in Avorio e osso nel Museo Nazionale die Ravenna Sec. XV-XVI, p. 30, Ills. 9 and 10.
