Southern Germany, probably Nuremberg, 17th century.
Sheet iron, reinforced with engraved bands and decorated with flowers and leaves, and in part painted. Hinged cover. 7-bolt lock. Pierced lock plate engraved with mythical creatures and tendrils. Sides with carrying handles. Paint work rubbed and in part retouched. 1 key.
