PAIR OF LARGE SCONCES,

French Regency, attributable to A.C. BOULLE (André Charles Boulle, 1642-1732), Paris, ca. 1715/20.
Matte and polished gilt bronze. Finely pierced wall plate, decorated with foliage. 2 light branches with broad drip plates and vase-shaped nozzles.
H 51 cm.

Provenance:
- from a French collection.

An identical pair was part of the Collection Ribolzi in Monte Carlo and was sold at Sotheby's Paris on 30 November 2011 (Lot No. 38). A further, identical pair was sold at d'Orsay Paris on 14 December 1979 (Lot No. 100). A variant with 3 light branches is part of the Collections of the Palais Rohan in Strasbourg.
