TWO MIYAO WORKSHOP FIGURES.

Japan, Meiji period, height 14.7 resp. 7 cm.
Bronze, details damascened in silver and gold. a) Hotei sleeping on his bag. b) A fisherman trying to extricate his loincloth from a giant clam. Both signed on reverse of cover Miyao, in rectangular cartouche sealed 'Ei' (workshop of Miyao Eisuke). On decorated wood stands. (2)
