A SMALL BOX FOR INCENSE (KOBAKO).
Japan, 18th/19th c. Jh. 8 × 8 × 2,5 cm.
Decorated in hira- and takamakie with two junks in the moonlight, partly hidden by a huge rock and buildings, details in raden (mother-of-pearl) and kirikane. Silver moon and rims. Signs of age.
Provenance: Old private collection from the French part of Switzerland.
