The design collective Archizoom, founded by Andrea Branzi, Gilberto Coretti, Paolo Deganello, Massimo Morozzi, and Dario and Lucia Bartolini in Florence in 1966, is considered the initiator of anti-design. Their radical, playful-ironic approach questioned the status function of design products and the functionalist claim of design that had prevailed until then. The members of Archizoom worked against fads, trends and wanted to overcome traditions as well as bourgeois values. The modular Safari Sofa on offer expresses this design approach by incorporating pop art elements such as the leopard fabric cover. Due to the modularity of the individual elements, the sofa emphasizes the sociable and social function of the furniture, which can be combined to create a real living landscape.
