A SMALL LACQUERED PORTABLE SHRINE (ZUSHI).

Japan, 17th/18th c. Height 12.5 cm.
Black, red and gold lacquer on wood, metal fittings. At interior bearing a figure of the Thousend-Armed Kannon (Senjukannon) seated on a lotos. Some traces of age and usage.
