LARGE APSARA HEAD.Khmer, in the style of Angkor Vat, 1st half of the 12th century. H 42 cm. Beige sandstone. The celestial dancer is wearing a wide, finely worked tiara, over which floral rosettes and slender fronds form a crown. Large earrings and broad chest adornments complement her magnificent appearance. A delicate smile brightens the face. From a private Swiss collection.
