GOLD SAMODOROK CIGARETTE CASE, FABERGÉ, WM. AUGUST HOLLMING, St. Petersburg 1898-1903. Yellow and pink gold 56 Zolotniki, 145g. Attractive cigarette case in a rounded rectangular shape, worked in Samodorok technique with a match compartment on the side, striking surface to be replaced. Cover with appliqued Cyrillic monogram BP, decorated with rose-cut diamonds, the clasp set with 1 oval ruby cabochon. Engraved dedication on the inside, dated 24. Julo 1907. Ca. 9.5 x 6.5 x 1.8 cm. Stamped Fabergé in Cyrillic letters, with the initials of the maker and Kokoschnik with the initials of the assayer in Cyrillic letters for A. Richter, 1898 - 1903. Owned by the Von Rall family, St. Petersburg, since 1907. Acquired from Fabergé.
