Impressionist & Modern Art
Many important art collections in Switzerland were constituted during the decades immediately before and after World War II. These collectors were often successful businessmen or factory owners who, often with considerable personal knowledge and good advice, acquired artworks from Impressionist and Modern painters. Today it’s their children and grandchildren who consign the works to auction, often to augment their own collections of Post-war art with the proceeds. As the largest Swiss auction house with a wide-reaching international network, Koller is regularly entrusted with the sale of works by important Modern artists, at auction or for private sale. Paintings by Monet, Chagall, Signac, Renoir, van Gogh, Kirchner, Klee, Pechstein, Vlaminck, Utrillo, Dalí, Matisse, Picasso and many more pass through our hands. Certain highly sought-after works are shown in special travelling previews in the art centres of Europe. For paintings and sculptures destined for private treaty sales, we guarantee the utmost discretion.
