A PRECISION SUNDIAL, Southern Germany, late 18th c. With monogram JPF (possibly J.P.Fischer). Engraved and gilt brass, iron and enamel. Semi-circular steel frame on rectangular wooden shaft holding the moveable mechanical sundial with meridian arc and fixed polar axis. With 3 cogwheels connected to clock dial showing the hours and minutes. H 40 cm.

Messing graviert und vergoldet, Eisen und Email. Halbkreisförmiger Stahlrahmen auf rechteckigem, profiliertem Holzschaft. Daran beweglich hängend die mechanische Sonnenuhr mit Meridianring und starrer Polachse. Der Rahmen ist durch 3 Zahnräder mit einem Uhrzifferblatt verbunden, deren Zeiger Stunden und Minuten angeben. H 40 cm.

Consisting of a trepan with screw-handle showing Chronos, 7 drill bits, 3 elevators, 5 scrapers, etc. some instruments inscribed IOANNES GANTE. In walnut case with brass mounts lined with red suede (lid warped and cracked). 34.5x20.5x5.2 cm.

Stahl geschnitten und graviert sowie teils vergoldet. Bestehend aus Bohrer mit aufschraubbarem Knauf mit der Darstellung von Chronos, 7 verschiedenen Bohrköpfen, 3 Hebern, 5 Schabern mit vergoldeten Griffen geschnitten mit Akanthusblättern und Blumen, 1 Bürste, 1 Schraube mit durchbrochen gearbeitetem Kopf sowie einem ähnlichen Aufsatz. Die Instrumente teils bez. IOANNES GANTE. In Nussbaumschatulle mit Messinggriff und -beschlägen, innen mit rotem Wildleder ausgeschlagen. Der Deckel der Schatulle verzogen und gerissen. 34,5x20,5x5,2 cm.

Stahl mit Rillendekor. Massive, gerundete Greifbacken an oktagonalen Griffen mit Nagelzieher bzw. Eichelabschluss. Es dürfte sich bei diesem Werkzeug um ein Meisterstück handeln. L 22 cm.
