BUREAU CABINET, Louis XV, probably by J. AEBERSOLD (Johannes Abersold, 1737-1812) and his workshop, Bern circa 1770/75. Walnut, burlwood and local fruitwoods in veneer with inlays. Interior with secret drawer behind 3 removable compartments. Original inner lining. Ivory knobs. Gilt, partly replaced bronze mounts and sabots. Old pencil inscription on the back of the secret drawer: "CE MEUBLE A ETE REPARE PAR JCB BONJOUR EN 1872 A THOUNE" and "ET EN 1928 A BERNE PAR A. SIMON NEE LIEBI DE THOUNE". 93x56x(open83)x106 cm.
