IMPORTANT AND RARE VASE WITH GREEN WATTEAU PAINTING, Meissen, circa 1747. The gilt bronzes, Paris, Louis XV, circa 1750-55. The model by Johann Joachim Kaendler. Painted on both sides in 'camaieu vert' with Watteau-style 'fetes galantes' in copper green, corresponding with the 'Green Watteau Service'. Gilt bronze rocaille base and handles. Crowned by a cast and pierced gilt bronze lid with coral decoration. Underglaze blue sword mark. H 42cm. Provenance: most probably part of a vase set which was given by August III, elector of Saxony, as a gift to the Dauphin and the Dauphine of France in 1747 and displayed in their private chambers in the Palace of Versailles. CUP AND SAUCER WITH THE FOSCARI COAT OF ARMS, Meissen, circa 1735-40.Each piece decorated with a crowned coat of arms of the Venetian Foscari family carried by two hovering putti. Underglaze blue sword marks, potter's mark oo in base ring of saucer, / and four quadrants in base ring of cup, three dots as gold mark. Gilding slightly rubbed. The painting of the coat of arms on the cup slightly retouched.
