Exceptionally finely engraved bronze, brass and silver. Hinged base with fine brass movement with striking on bell. 11.5x11.5x11.5 cm.

Renaissance, das Werk sign., dat. und bez. JACOB WIDENMAN AUGSPURG 1662 (wohl Jacob II. Widenmann, tätig in Augsburg ab 1603).
Bronze, Messing und Silber ausserordentlich fein graviert. Quadratisches, profiliertes, mit verschiedenen Tieren und Fabelwesen graviertes Gehäuse auf Balusterfüssen. Die Oberseite mit 5 gravierten Ringen - jeweils einer mit Tages- und Nachtstunden, Wochentagen, Monatstagen und Monatsnamen mit entsprechenden Planetensymbolen sowie einer mit ausgeschnittenem Mondphasenfenster. Striker movement with speed adjustment and hammer with mask. In original, gold embossed, dark red leather case with fine brass handle and magnifying viewing window. D 12.5 cm, H 9 cm.
