IMPORTANT LORD LIEUTENANTS CEREMONIAL MACE FOR THE KINGDOM OF HANOVER, London,John Northam, 1816. 18 ct. gold and enamel. Composed of three cylindrical shafts in gold, enameled in light blue, with raised lions 'passant guardant'. The end pieces in gold, one side surmounted by a lion on gold royal crown of Great Britain above motto of the 'Order of the Garter' and von Münster coat of arms. Verso inscribed: GEORG PRINZ REGENT VON GROSS BRITANNIEN IRLAND UND HANNOVER ERTHEILTE NACH WEEDER HERSTELLUNG DER OEFFENTLICHEN RUHE BEFREYUNG UND ERWEITERUNG DER DEUTSCHEN STAATEN SEINER MAYESTAT DEM GRAFEN ERNST FRIDERICH HERBERTH VON MÜNSTER SEINEM STAATS UND CABINETS MINISTER DIE ERBLICHE MARSCHALL WÜRDE DES KONIGREICHS HANNOVER ZUR BELOHNUNG SEINER DIENSTE AM 12TEN AUGUST 1814. The opposite end with the 'Saxon Steed' on the crown of Hanover above the motto 'NEC ASPERA TERRENT', the royal coat of arms of Great Britain and the royal monogram under the royal crown. Marked for John Northam, London and 1816. L 64.8 cm. With original leather case. Enamel chipped in some places.

HISTORICALLY IMPORTANT BOUILLOTTE LAMP, belonging to Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte according to epigraphic tradition, Empire, Paris before 1814. Chased and gilt bronze. Height-adjustable light holder. The carrying handle damaged. Engraved inscription on the underside: 'Dieser Leuchter stammt aus dem Reisewagen des Kaisers Napoleon Bonaparte, der sich desselben während seiner Feldzüge bediente, und wurde nach der Einnahme von Paris daselbst 1814 dem Kabinets Minister Ernst Friedrich Herbert Grafen zu Münster Erblandmarschall von Hannover von dem Kaiser Alexander von Russland als Andenken an den Befreiungskrieg überreicht, an dem Münster regen Anteil genommen, indem er das mit Hannover vereinigte England bewog die Befreiung Deutschland's von dem Joch Napoleons zu unterstützen'. LARGE BISCUIT TABLE ORNAMENT 'RETOUR DE LA CHASSE', Sevres, circa 1883.The model by Albert Ernest Carrier-Belleuse (1824-1887). Diana and her companion, accompanied by dogs, in triumphant gesture with their game. On a round, cobalt blue glazed plinth heightened in gold. Mounted in a Baroque-style wooden display case. The rock base of the group with stamped mark SEVRES in square and incised E.C. 91, the underside of the blue glazed plinth marked S.91 in green and Doré à Sèvres 95 in iron red. H 83 cm including plinth, the display case H 179 x 84 x 84 cm. Engraved brass plaque with the dedication: 'Geschenk der Französischen Republik an den deutschen Fürsten Münster nach 15 jähriger Thätigkeit als Deutscher Botschafter in Paris/ Bildhauer Carrier-Belleuse Bisquit de Sèvres/ Überreicht am 20. Januar 1901 durch den Präsidenten Loubet und den Minister des Äusseren Delcassé' Provenance: Derneburg Castle, Hildesheim district, Germany. This monumental table ornament was a gift from the President of the French Republic, Emile Loubet, to his German Ambassador, Georg Herbert, Prince Münster von Derneburg (1820-1902), on 24 January 1901, documented by four inscribed plaques on the display case.
