Carved ivory decorated with: a hunter with a rifle, signaling the death of the deer he killed lying at his feet, and two dogs. Hollow mouthpiece. Funnel with screwed metal mount and carrying ring, a second carrying ring on the back of the horn, green cord.

COLETTE GRAVITY PISTOL

Belgian, ca. 1860, first version.
Octagonal barrel (L 22 cm), Cal. 10 mm, fine rifling, Gun No. VC 175, indistinct Liège mark. Front and rear sights, solid. Lock case with drop-block lock - cocking the hammer to the first catch raises the chamber block to receive the ammunition located above the barrel chamber, in the second catch, the block drops and brings the ammunition into the chamber, slide safety. Iron mount, trigger guard and grip cap decorated with engraved tendrils. Carved walnut grip, so-called "crosse renaissance".

Iron hilt, flat, open knuckle guard in the middle part with decorative discs. Small oval guard plate with punctiform perforations. Solid, square iron grip attachment with riveted buckhorn plates on both sides. Single-edged blade (L 54.3 cm), hollow cut on one side, remains of an etched decoration.

Double-edged blade, Solingen (L 79.8 cm), with etched decoration, gilt ground somewhat rubbed. White-painted leather scabbard, silver mounts, two ring bands, shoe. Also includes iron carrying-plate with chains and snap springs.

Leaf-shaped iron with central ridge, both sides with two decorative hooks. Etched decoration: Front side: initial 'A' with a crown on top, and palm branches on the sides. Rear side: crowned eagle, applied escutcheon, quartered, black-silver, with a palm branch on the side. Blade with ornamental nodus screwed into the socket, octagonal socket, two langets, blackened round shaft. Iron shoe.

Smooth ivory grips, small cracks, iron caps as grip ends. In a matching mahogany case with key, the interior lined with blue velvet. On the lid, small brass plaque with engraved owner's coat-of-arms and the motto "VIRTUS PERSEVER ANTIA". Contents: bullet tongs, ivory powder flask, ivory primer box.
