BOULLE CLOCK ON PLINTH
Louis XIV, Paris ca. 1730/40. Movement and dial, signed André Hory à Paris (maître ca. 1700–1750).
Wooden case with Boulle marquetry, red tinted tortoiseshell, in part engraved and inlaid with engraved brass. Opulent gilt bronze mounts. Scrolled lower corners on spherical feet. Brass dial with white enamel cartouches. Movement, converted to Brocot escapement, striking the 1/2-hour on bell. Plinth with five curved supports. 1 winding key. Key to door, missing.
