SMALL CYLINDER DESK,

Louis XVI, by F. BURY (Ferdinand Bury, maître 1774) and signed I.B. TUART (Jean Baptiste Tuart, maître 1741), Paris ca. 1775.
Tulipwood, amaranth, mahogany and various precious woods, fluted, shaped and in veneer. Pull-out leaf lined with green gold-impressed leather over central drawer, and 1 drawer on each side. Fitted interior with large compartment, on top 3 adjacent drawers and 2 cartonniers lined with matching leather. Retracted top with 3 adjacent drawers. Fine gilt bronze mounts and sabots, and brass fluting. "Carrara" marble top, edged with pierced brass. Free-standing.
