A SIXFOLD SCREEN BY KANO EISHIN (ISEN'IN; 1755-1828).

Japan, end of 18th/early 19th c.
Ink on paper with gold leaf. Atmospheric depiction of plum tree branches on a gently shiny golden ground. Signature Isen'in hôgen hitsu and seal. Minor restorations.

Provenance: Swiss private collection, aquired from an old Japanese private collection in Tôkyô between 1984-1986.
