PLATE WITH OPENWORK AND "EICHHÖRNCHEN-DEKOR",

Meissen, design probably by Johann Friedrich Eberlein and Johann Gottlieb Ehder, c. 1740-1750.
Painted in Kakiemon style with grapes and a flying squirrel amidst a rice hedge with tendrils. Underglaze blue sword mark, Pressnummer 21.
D 23.3 cm.

Cf. a bowl of this decoration with identical openwork, J. Weber, Meissener Porzellane mit Dekoren nach ostasiatischen Vorbildern, vol. II, p.299 cat. 300. Identical openwork on a bottle stand from the Brühl'schen Schwanenservice.
