AN IMPORTANT MEISSEN GROUP OF LOVERS WITH A BIRD CAGE

Circa 1736. The model by Johann Joachim Kändler.
Underglaze blue swords mark.
H 12.7 cm.

Restorations to the arms and legs, and to the hem of the lady's dress.

This group belongs to the most important "hoop skirt-" or "crinoline groups" in Meissen, it is the earliest of its kind designed by Kändler.
