AN OTTOMAN CORAL-INSET AND GOLD-DAMASCENED DAGGER (KINDJAL).

Turkey, dated 1239 AH (1823 AD), length (blade) 50 cm, length (total) 69.5 cm.
Straight double-edged blade with central double-ridge, gold-damascened foliate design and inscriptive panels. The wooden hilt and scabbard overlaid in metal with incised floral decoration and set with coral forming floral motifs. The scabbard partly engraved with foliate design. Some missing inlays.
