Seven (of a total of eight) images from the series 'The seven liberal arts'. 1. Title page; 2. Music; 3. Geometry; 4. Rhetoric; 5. Dialectics; 6. Arithmetic; 7. Grammar.
Etchings on laid paper with watermark of cap and bells. No. 1 on laid paper with watermark of crowned coat of arms with fleur-de-lis.
Some numbered in the lower right corner in pen and brown ink.
Each 24.3 x 34.3 cm.

Hollstein 127, 128, 130 - 134, missing 129 'Astrologia'. – Almost complete series in outstanding, deep black, even and clear impressions. Mostly with fine or small margin around the plate edge. Two impressions trimmed to the lower plate edge or just inside the edge. Individual images with barely visible to light foxing. Individual small stains, mostly in the margins. A few unobtrusive traces of wear. Verso scattered remains of old mounts. Verso individual annotations in red chalk and numbers in pencil. Overall good condition.
