A NETSUKE OF A TIGER AND CUB BY OKAKOTO.
Japan, early 19th c. Width 4 cm.
Ivory with finely accentuated, black stained fur texture, the eyes are inlaid. The young is nestled against the recumbent parent, which is facing left, showing its sharp teeth. Signed Okakoto.
Provenance: Old Swiss private collection, thence by descent.
