Peter van den Brink, to whom we are grateful for his help in cataloguing the present work, sees a stylistic proximity to the circle of the Brussels painter Bernard van Orely (1487-1541), while the depiction of Christ reminds him of Quentin Massys (1466-1530) and the angels of Jan de Beer (1475-1528).
