BUREAU CABINET WITH UPPER SECTION,

Baroque, Southern Germany, 18th century.
Walnut, burlwood and plum, inlaid with strap work, leaves and flowers and geometric reserves. The upper section with a door over a drawer, and 4 drawers on each side. The central section with an inclined, hinged writing surface, the inside lined with red fabric, and opening up into 4 drawers. The lower section with 5 drawers arranged in 3 rows. Brass mounts. Some losses and large supplements in the veneer, repairs. The sub-division of the lower drawers, later. 2 keys.
