MANTEL CLOCK "AU MANEGE",

Empire/French Restoration, the dial signed VAILLANT A PARIS (Louis Jacques Vaillant, maître 1787), the bronze inscribed PRIX DU VAINQUEUR, Paris ca. 1815/30.
Matte and polished gilt bronze. Octagonal case with a central fluted shaft with a merry-go-round featuring 3 putti on swans. On a later octagonal mahogany base. Enamel dial with the hours in Roman numerals and the minutes in Arabic numerals. Parisian movement, striking the 1/2-hour on bell, the mechanism is triggered when striking the hour. Requires revision.
28.5x23.5x56.5 cm.
