SALON TABLE, Louis XV style, stamped VTOR RAULIN 226 BD ST. GERMAIN (Victor Raulin, active 1878-1925), Paris circa 1900. Tulipwood and rosewood in veneer also inlaid with flowers and leaves. The top edged in moulded bronze, the frieze with 2 drawers and 2 sliding ledges lined in green leather. D 103 cm, H 72 cm. Provenance: Zurich Private collection.
Provenienz: Zürcher Privatbesitz. V. Raulin übernahm 1878 die florierende Werkstatt seines Vaters und führte sie mit grossem Erfolg weiter. Er stellte an der Exposition Universelle 1878 und 1889 aus, wo er die "médaille d'argent" gewann. Die Jury der Ausstellung von 1878 hielt in ihrem publizierten Rapport fest, dass bei Raulins Möbeln "un excellent emploi des laques qu'il fabrique" vorzufinden sei. Lit.: D.
