Deruta, probably workshop of Giacomo Mancini, called "El Frate" (aktiv c. 1540-60), first half of the 16th century.

Painted in blue and "lustro dorato". The kneeling Saint Jerome with recumbent lion before Golgotha with Christ on the Cross, within a hilly landscape with architecture. The underside painted with concentric circles in lustre, on a flat recessed foot.

Decorated with the tragic Biblical account of the Massacre of the Innocents (Matthew 2: 16) before a townscape with viaduct, after the graphic model by Raimondi after a design by Raphael from 1509.

"In veste dalmatica" type. The head of the Madonna crowned, on her arm the Christ Child with the right hand raised in benediction and the left hand holding an orb. Conical, wavy robe painted in blue with tendrils in imitation of brocade, modelled with two necklaces.
