Bohemia, 17th century. Attributable to the workshop of Giovanni Castrucci.

Bohemian jasper, agates, various semi-precious stones and marble of different colors, inlaid. The center depicting Saint Jerome. Blackened wooden frame with inner frame, the corners with village views in Pietra-Dura. Four small reserves with stone inlays. The back with remains of a collection label and numbered in ink XLII over an underlined 7, the frame with collection label, No. 27.

Frontispiece with the coat-of-arms of the King of France and Navarre, in cartouche below a crown, flanked by 2 wings and framed by the Order of the Holy Spirit and the Order of St. Michael. The upper corners bear the monogram of Louis XIV, in cartouches.

Oak body with amaranth in veneer and parqueted. Shaped top, edged in brass and with inlaid brass, and parqueted surface in veneer. The front, with 2 rows of drawers. The four upper drawers are rectangular, and the 2 lower drawers have a cut-out, framing the gilt bronze mask. Very fine handles and finely worked escutcheons. The sides and the legs, framed with brass fillets. Solid locks with gilt covers. The key features the coat-of-arms of the Count Palatine von Seckendorff-Aberdar.

Walnut, plum, maple, burlwood, and 11 Pietra-Dura panels inlaid with tin fillets. Upper cabinet section with pierced top over upper drawer, on later feet. Front with double-doors, opening up to display an opulent interior with 12 drawers arranged around a central door. The inner central door, in turn, opens up into 9 drawers, 1 of which has a secret compartment. The front parts of the outer drawers and the door are decorated with Pietra-Dura mosaics. The lower section (later, using older elements) , inlaid with the coat-of-arms of the zur Gilgen family in a reserve. Front with 2 paneled doors. 3 keys.

Curved wooden case with Boulle and Contre-Boulle marquetry, decorated with painted tortoiseshell, brass, horn and mother-of-pearl. Opulent bronze mounts designed as dolphins, espagnolettes, mascaron, angel heads, etc., the top featuring a putto. Bronze dial with white enamel cartouches. Movement with verge escapement, striking the 1/2-hour on bell. Plinth from the same time period, but with different colors in the marquetry, possibly replaced. Case requires some restoration.
