IMPORTANT CEYLON SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND BROOCH, ca. 1910
Platinum and white gold 750, 40g.
Exceptional brooch, set with 1 oval blue sapphire of ca. 110 ct, Ceylon, unheated, of very fine clarity and beautiful colour, enhanced by 24 old mine-cut diamonds and 48 rose-cut diamonds totalling ca. 2.4 ct. The brooch finding later replaced in white gold, with traces of a pendant bail. Ca. 4 x 3.5 cm.
With SSEF report no. 145705, April 2025, and an accompanying SSEF letter highlighting that a sapphire of this size, colour and clarity is a rarity.
