SMALL SKELETON CLOCK “À TROIS ROUES”
Louis XVI/Directoire, Paris, late 18th century. The dial is signed Peter Renou inD A Paris (Peter Renou was a watchmaker in London from 1802 to 1804).
Bronze and brass, gilt. Skeletonized movement and case. White enamel chapter ring with Arabic hours on an octagonal, beige marble plinth. Later water level. Fine decoration in the form of flowers and a round dance featuring children and a ram. Movement with anchor escapement. With oval, blackened wooden base and glass dome. Back pendulum with later bezel. 1 key.
