COFFEE- AND TEA SERVICE WITH OVAL TRAY
Hamburg, 1948–1950. Maker’s mark of Ferdinand Richard Wilm, executed by the silversmith’s workshop H. J. Wilm.
Comprising coffee pot, teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl, together with a later associated tray. Slightly bulbous form on a conical foot ring. Flat lid with spherical wooden finial. Curved wooden handle tapering to a point below. The shallow tray of oval form with raised, slightly domed rim. Hammered throughout.
L tray, 45 cm, 2690 g. 830 and 925 silver.

Marks: maker’s marks (ligature monogram “FR” within a rectangle, “W” beneath a crown, three-towered castle within a rectangle, and stamped inscription “H.J. Wilm. Hamburg”); crescent moon and crown, 925. The maker’s mark “W” beneath a crown lacking on the teapot. Tray stamped 830 and with serial number.<br>With surface scratches and minor bruises consistent with age and use. The teapot hinge pin requires replacement.
