A PITHOS
Etruscan, Cerveteri, 7th–6th century BC.
Reddish/brown terracotta with remnants of black and red paint. Ovoid vessel on a flat base. Short neck and slightly flared lip. The shoulder has a relief ring decoration, set in a band framed by two beaded rings. The vessel wall has vertical ribs and additional ring motifs. Two gadrooned, matching curved carrying handles.
H 46 cm, Ø max. 51 cm.
Repaired.
