LARGE MANTEL CLOCK "AUX COLONNES" WITH CALENDAR AND BAROMETER, Louis XVI style, probably Paris circa 1880. Brass and gilt bronze. Architecturally designed case with statuettes of Giuliano de'Medici after Michelangelo, Voltaire and (probably) George Washington, small putti and 3 finely painted dials: 1 with hour roman numerals and flowers, 1 with French days of the week and month, as well as moon phase, 1 with "barometre aneroide". Paris escapement striking the 1/2 hours on bell. Decorated all around with shell cameos with mythological figures and rural scenes, colorful metal medallions with cityscapes, enamel medallions with people and mosaic medallions with stars.58x18x69 cm.

Messing und vergoldete Bronze. Architektonisch gestaltetes Gehäuse mit Säulen, Statuetten des Giuliano de'Medici nach Michelangelo, Voltaire und (wohl) George Washington, kleinen Putti und 3 fein bemalten Zifferblättern: 1 mit römischen Stundenzahlen und Blumen, 1 mit französischen Wochen- und Monatstagen und Mondphase, 1 mit "baromètre anéroide". Pariser Werk mit 1/2-Stundenschlag auf Glocke. Ringsum verziert mit Muschelkameen mit mythologischen Figuren und ländlichen Szenen, bunten Metallmedaillons mit Stadtansichten, Email-Medaillons mit Personen und Mosaik-Medaillons mit Sternen. 58x18x69 cm.
