LARGE CONSOLE
Louis XVI, France ca. 1770.
Wood, opulently carved with rosette frieze, flower- and leaf garlands, laurel-leaf band, the head of a woman, and friezes, and gilt. Rectangular, "Breche d’Alep" marble top with shaped edge, frame with central medallion, on scrolled legs connected by a stretcher "en arbalete".
153 × 55 × 99 cm.
Few losses. Gilding, rubbed. Marble, slightly chipped.
