Our Principles
At the heart of our work is the preservation and care of works of art and cultural heritage. We are committed to safeguarding the original substance and the historical integrity of each object ─ this principle underpins all of our decisions and actions. Works of art and cultural objects are as individual as their histories. Different materials, types of damage, and unique characteristics require tailored restoration approaches. In developing these concepts, we consider both the specific needs of the object and the wishes of our clients. Our focus is on the restoration of paintings on textile or wooden supports, as well as furniture and other objects made of wood.
Materials
We work with great care and rely on both traditional and modern materials that are proven, ageing-resistant, and reversible. These include traditional adhesives, lightfast pigments, and high-quality varnishes. Wooden additions are carried out using appropriate wood types to ensure a harmonious overall appearance.
Examination & Documentation
Microscopic examination enables a closer understanding of an object’s structure and condition ─ an essential basis for well-founded decisions. The results of these analyses, along with all conservation measures, are documented for you in a clear and transparent manner.
