SMALL TEAPOT WITH OMBRE INSECTS,
Meissen, ca. 1745.
Naturalistically painted animal spout and J–shaped handle decorated with rocailles and accentuated with purple, painted with ombré insects all around, the flat lid with gilt pine cone finial and matching insects. Underglaze blue sword mark. H 11.5 cm.
