BUREAU-PLAT WITH BOULLE MARQUETRY,
late Louis XVI, probably by E. LEVASSEUR (Etienne Levasseur, maître 1766), Paris, 18th/19th century.
Ebony and brown tortoiseshell with finely engraved brass inserts in "contre-partie"; flowers, leaves and decorative frieze. Rectangular top with gold-pressed black leather, edged in bronze. Front with 1 drawer. Exquisite matte and polished gilt bronze mounts and sabots. Restorations.
