Sylvie Fleury wird 1961 in Genf geboren, wo sie heute lebt und arbeitet. Die Schweizerin ist Performance- und Objektkünstlerin, die dank ihrem ausgeprägten Sinn für Inszenierung ihre Werke mit dem Raum in einen Dialog treten lässt. Fleury ist eine begnadete Selbstdarstellerin, die den Konsum ebenso liebt wie entlarvt. Die Künstlerin kennt keine Grenzen in Material und Form und verwandelt Konsumprodukte durch minimale Verfremdung in autonome Kunstgegenstände. Obwohl ihre Präferenz für schnelle, schnittige Sportwagen und Formel-1-Rennen eher maskulin geprägt scheint, überwiegt ihre Passion für Beautyprodukte und Mode.

Neben zahlreichen internationalen Einzel- und Gruppenausstellungen nimmt Sylvie Fleury 1993 an der Eröffnungsfeier der Biennale Venedig sowie 1998 an der Biennale São Paolo teil. Ihre Arbeiten sind im Museum of Modern Art in New York, im Museum für angewandte Kunst in Wien u. a. ausgestellt. 2018 wird Sylvie Fleury mit dem prestigeträchtigen "Schweizer Grand Prix Kunst / Prix Meret Oppenheim" ausgezeichnet.
