Legs, in part restored. Losses.

P.A. Bellangé is among the most significant and innovative seat manufacturers of the late 18th and early 19th century. He supplied furniture to the most important ruling and noble families of his time, such as for Laeken: the inventory of the "chambre à coucher de l'Empereur", for the Tuileries: the furnishing of the chambers of the "enfants de France" and a multitude of seats for the "Grand Salon", as well as an "ensemble de meubles" for the then President of the United States of America, James Monroe. Of this suite, 1 console, 4 armchairs and 2 chairs are still preserved today. (D. Ledoux-Lebard, Le mobilier français du XIXe siècle, Paris 1989; pp. 50-58).
