PRINCELY SIDEBOARD "AUX BUSTES DE SPHINGES", known as a "commode a portes avec tiroirs a l'anglaise", Empire, stamped JACOB FRERES RUE MESLEE (cooperation between the brothers George II and Francois-Honore-George Jacob 1796-1803), Paris circa 1803. Flame Cuban mahogany in veneer. The front with two doors below a top drawer. Interior with 3 drawers. Exceptionally fine, matte and polished gilt bronze mounts and applications. "Bleu Turquin" top. 116x61x90 cm. Provenance: - Traditionally considered to be formerly part the collections of Prince Murat in Chateau Chambly, Oise. - From a European collection.

Kubamahagoni gefriest und geflammt. Rechteckiger Korpus mit vorstehendem Blatt auf profiliertem Sockel mit gequetschten Kugelfüssen. Architektonisch gegliederte Front mit Doppeltüre und vorstehenden Eckstollen unter vorstehender Kopfschublade. Inneneinteilung mit 3 Schubladen. Ausserordentlich feine, matt- und glanzvergoldete Bronzebeschläge und -applikationen. "Bleu Turquin"-Platte. 116x61x90 cm.
