A PRECISION SUNDIAL, Southern Germany, late 18th c. With monogram JPF (possibly J.P.Fischer). Engraved and gilt brass, iron and enamel. Semi-circular steel frame on rectangular wooden shaft holding the moveable mechanical sundial with meridian arc and fixed polar axis. With 3 cogwheels connected to clock dial showing the hours and minutes. H 40 cm.

Messing graviert und vergoldet, Eisen und Email. Halbkreisförmiger Stahlrahmen auf rechteckigem, profiliertem Holzschaft. Daran beweglich hängend die mechanische Sonnenuhr mit Meridianring und starrer Polachse. Der Rahmen ist durch 3 Zahnräder mit einem Uhrzifferblatt verbunden, deren Zeiger Stunden und Minuten angeben. H 40 cm.
