PAIR OF 'EMPIRE' VASES 'AUX VUES DE TIVOLI ET DU PORT ANTIQUE D'OSTIA',Paris, circa 1820. 'Forme ovoid', gilt, each with a romanticized landscape veduta: one with the ancient port of Ostia, the other with the Temple of Vesta and Temple of the Sibyl in Tivoli in a mountain landscape. Etched gold medallion verso. Gilding rubbed at the edges. H 36 cm. (2)

Paris, um 1820.
Forme ovoide', vergoldet, mit seitlichen geflügelten Frauenköpfen über Akanthusblattansatz, jede mit einer romantisierenden Landschaftsvedute, mit dem antiken Hafen von Ostia, die andere mit Vesta- und Sibyllen Tempel in Tivoli in einer Berglandschaft, je in einem radierten Goldrahmen. Umseitiges radiertes Goldmedaillon. Vergoldung an den Rändern berieben. H 36 cm. (2)
