THE ANNUNCIATION TO THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY, Renaissance, Brussels ca. 1480. Carved oak, verso flattened and painted. Mary kneeling with long, open hair and eyes downcast, arms folded over her chest. The lining of the coat inscribed with the words of the angel AVE MARIA GRATIA PLENA DOMINUS TECUM. Mounted on a later base. Painting retouched. H 33 cm. Provenance: - Collection Albert and Hedwig Ullmann, Frankfurt a. M. - Dr. Arthur Kauffmann, London (up until 1951). - Collection Emil G. Bührle, Zurich.

Renaissance, Brüssel um 1480.
Eiche geschnitzt, verso geflacht sowie gefasst. Maria kniend mit langem offenem Haar und gesenktem Blick, die Arme vor der Brust verschränkt. Der in weichen Falten fallende Mantelsaum bezeichnet mit den Worten des Engels AVE MARIA GRATIA PLENA DOMINUS TECUM. Montiert auf späteren Sockel. Fassung überarbeitet. H 33 cm.
