The miniature is framed by a entire border and shows in an elegant manner the annunciation to Mary.
Leaf from a glamorous book of hours, made for a rich French royal house. Style and border point from the artistical ambience to an unknown book Illuminator from the circle of Jacques de Besançon and the Master of the Scandaleuse chronic, which also appoints to the creation date of 1480-90.
Recto on the upper and below edges some mild foxings, verso a little browned and on the top with remains of sticky tape by the old mounting. Parchment (as usual) a little waved.
