A GILT-DAMASCENED DAGGER (JAMBIYA).
Iran, Qajar, 19th c. Length (blade) 23.8 cm.
The curved double-edged watered-steel blade with raised medial ridge and decorated with chiselled lions to the forte. The gilt damascened decoration at the iron hilt showing hunting scenes and animals in combat. Scabbard slightly worn. Minor nick.
